It's great to see that Timor has evolved so much lately and now the "Tour of Timor"!!!

I was born in Timor, lived in Darwin-Australia and now living in Portugal. One day I would love to visit Timor and see the race live!!! B-)

Re the "complete results": so far, only 7 out of 11 pages have been uploaded since the race ended last month. Wonder if anyone has got the complete results? Perhaps upload it on the Tour de Timor Facebook page or some other website and post the link here? Thanks :-D

Great memories of a great week . I should have bought more than a kg of coffee beans though as I am running out already...gave too much away! Looks like I'll have to be back for a holiday and to get more coffee :P|

At a little distance it feels very much like we all cooperated in making something special work for Timor Leste. Thanks again

Hi all,

What a great event! Even though I was the one that crashed out big time on Stage 2... ouch.

I managed to get some extra photos along the next few stages all the way to Dili.

I have created a photo sharing place specifically for the Tour De Timor 2009, and participants & supporters can register and upload their photos.

Everybody can view the photos, but only people that get the activation code (soon from Mike Stone) can register and upload.

http://tdtmedia.3fidi.com

Enjoy!

Bleeksie

#39 - team 3fidi

ps. if for some reason you dont get the activation code in the next few days and you have great shots of Timor to share then email me.

Fantastic! Thanks again to Mike, David, Sean, Mel, the rest of the organizing committee and all the volunteers you all did an amazing job. I came prepared for chaos and instead experienced total professionalism and an amazingly well run event. See you next year! b(^)

Dili, 29 June 2009 - The vistas below await the competitors of the Tour de Timor. The race will be one of the most challenging of your life though the surrounding beauty and roaring crowds in the villages will inspire each rider to achieve their best and have a great time.

Some of the easiest terrain will be along the North Coast on Day 1.

The shepherds and rice growers will be amazed to see and support both International and National teams. You will cross this bridge at Laleia, which is 2/3rd the way to Baucau.

Beautiful Mountain views like this will be both cruel and kind on Day 2.

After completion of day 3 why not take a dip in the ocean at Betano to freshen up?

The many signs of Timorese struggle for Independence are evident throughout the country.

Dili - 25 June 2009, Timor-Leste National Riders are training hard for the Tour de Timor. Timor-Leste riders combat hill climbs with relative ease.

A Timorese competitor negotiates the mountain passage near Aileu during the 'Ride for Peace' race from Maubisse to Dili held in November 2007. The accustomed Timorese riders smashed International opposition taking out the top 9 places.

Little Jose from Manatuto says "bring it on" to International riders!

The stunning Maubisse Church will greet riders as they embark on day 5, the final leg of the race.

Traditional housing in the Timorese mountain country.

Not all the roads are paved and you will be crossing occasional river beds and washouts, so definitely a mountain bike required for this race.

Yes, you can.. Lots are friends are waiting here for YOU...
