Teams and Individual Cyclists
All international cyclists must be registered to participate in the Tour de Timor. For single and double applicants that do not manage to form a team, the Tour de Timor Committee will form you into a team of 4. Thanks to the advice of many riders, we have removed the replacement rider from the registration form. Race rules are in the process of being finalised, though the likely scoring for teams will be based on the third rider over the line on any given stage, providing redundancy for every team. Should teams have late minute changes for team member prior to the race, this can be organised in direct consultation with Race Management on tourdetimor@gmail.com
Competitors are eligible for both team as well as individual prizes. Please contact the organising committee if you are an individual or a group of 2 or 3 and require assistance putting together a team. We will pair individuals into groups of riders with equivalent standards.
Registrations close 10 August 2009. Please copy registration information from the Registration section of this website onto a word document, fill it out and email to tourdetimor@gmail.com
Support Staff
There is no requirement for dedicated support staff for individual and team entries. We will have dedicated support staff that will be available for general mechanical, water and medical support. However, each team is permitted to register one support staff, which will entitle them to dedicated transport, food, accommodation etc. If more support staff are required for teams, please advise Race Management.
Equipment and Team Clothing
International Teams are required to provide their own equipment and team clothing for the Tour de Timor-Leste including: mountain bike, helmet, repair kit, spare tubes/wheels/pedals, team uniforms with identification….etc. We encourage you to seek sponsorship to purchase team riding shirts, and where possible state or national uniforms / strips.
All participants will require personal gear for 7 days on the road including mosquito net, torch, hat, toiletries, sleeping bag and camping mattress, wet and warm weather gear. We request that you clearly identify your kit bag. Sleeping accomodation will be provided for all competitors from Sunday 23 August to Saturday 29 August 2009.
HEALTH
Pre-Departure Vaccinations
There are some health concerns in Timor-Leste as in all tropical destinations which international travellers can protect themselves against by simple vaccinations. Below are some recommended websites with information regarding health issues and how to prepare for them prior to arriving in Timor-Leste. It is the responsibility of each cyclist to look after his/her own personal health.

Diet/Food Situation in Timor-Leste
The food provided on the race will mostly consist of rice, chicken, beef, vegetable etc. We will endeavour to have vegetarian options, though if you have particularly special dietary requirements please bring what you require with you. Dili supermarkets carry most items and you can eat just about anything at Dili restaurants, though we cannot guarantee the same in rural areas.
Medical Response Team and First Aid
There will be a medical response team with the race at all times, this team will include an ambulance, a doctor and two nurses. We advise cyclists to bring a personal first aid kit to treat minor injuries.

The event is not insured however there will be a medical response team with the race at all times.

For those competitors wishing to come earlier or stay later, a number of accomodation options are available in Dili.
